The Jesuits built their college here over some seventy years, the largest complex in the city after the castle. Its baroque library hall, all gilded wood and painted ceilings, holds thousands of old volumes; visitors see it from the doorway.
From the Astronomical Tower, temperatures have been written down every day since 1775: one of the longest unbroken weather records in the world.
