Kampa is an island, separated from the Lesser Town by a narrow mill race called Čertovka, the Devil’s Stream. Its mill wheels turned for centuries; one still stands by the bridge.
The southern half is a park under old trees, with the Museum Kampa in a former mill at the water’s edge. It is the best place to see Charles Bridge without standing on it.
